YES! All of our meals, soups, kales and sauces are 100% gluten free. We do however, also make samosa which have a flour shell. We process any gluten products on different lines and on different days, with complete wash downs in between. All efforts are made to ensure complete separation.
We do not use any of the 9 top allergens as ingredients in any of our meals. This is personal as one of our children was born with serious food allergies.OUR MEALS HAVE:
NO DAIRY, NO EGGS, NO SOY, NO SESAME, NO PEANUTS or TREE NUTS, NO FISH or SHELL FISH, NO WHEAT(Meals only)*.
*We do make Samosa, which contains wheat, but is made on different equipment and on different days
We start with the best ingredients so we can make the best meals. While not every ingredient is organic, many of the items we cook with do not have or are at low risk of a genetically modified versions in the market place. We use organic corn and do NOT use soy. Our beans are organic or GMO free verified. We also work with suppliers to source locally and regionally grown as much as possible.
NO. It's not in our nature or culture! We cook and freeze the food immediately, which captures quality, taste and nutritional value. We completely embrace the concept of the nutritional wisdom of slow cooked foods - just simple ingredients and nothing artificial.
Global Village meals are nutrient dense and great solution to your busy life. Our 13 ounce meals are designed for 1 adult with most meals at or under 500 calories. With a balanced combination of protein, whole grains, high fiber & low sodium, our meals will leave you feeling satisfied for longer. We also feature soups and kale side dishes which add more options for mealtimes.
Yes. We recommend that you put a sticky note with a date on the package so you do not forget when you pulled it out to thaw. Your food will be safe in the fridge at 40°F or below for 5-6 days.

Yes - mostly. Recycling is a way of life in Vermont!! The black container and cardboard sleeve are both recyclable. New pouches used for the kale dishes are not currently recyclable.
We send a PRE-PAID RETURN SHIPPING LABEL with each Styrofoam cooler used to ship your meals. If you can use the cooler, please do! If not, let’s help the environment and keep the landfills free. Please send it back to us for reuse!
Global Village Cuisine ships to all of the lower 48 continental US states.
Your handcrafted meals are packed in a Styrofoam cooler with dry ice to keep them nice and cold. When you receive your package, be sure to wear gloves if the dry ice is still present as you're unpacking. We recommend that you transfer your meals to the freezer immediately.Feel free to heat one and dig in! You can keep and use the cooler, or help the environment by returning it to us - for reuse.
Because our product is frozen, we ship Monday through Wednesday for deliveries Wednesdays through Fridays (possibly Saturday depending on location). Orders placed Monday-Tuesday will ship by Wednesday. Orders placed Wednesday-Sunday will ship the following Monday.
Your order will take 2-3 days to arrive from ship date. You will receive an email with a tracking number so you can track your package. We do not ship on the weekends or holidays.
No. All our orders are shipped as "Driver Release." This means the package will be delivered to your address with no signature required. Packages can be left at any exterior door, so please be sure to check thoroughly on the day your order is scheduled for delivery. If you are shipping to someone other than yourself, please be sure to notify the recipient that a perishable package will be delivered to them.
Sorry, we cannot ship to P.O. boxes.
If your order arrived on the scheduled delivery day, and the meals are still "refrigerator cold" to the touch, they can be safely stored in your freezer with no reduction in quality. If it appears the product is not cold, please contact us for a replacement.
Yes. To help minimize the cost of shipping and also to limit the issue of thawing which can happen with smaller packages, all orders must include a minimum of 14 meals. You may wonder, Is this too many meals? Not really. The flavors and tastes are so varied every meal will be a new experience. You may be surprised at how quickly you go through a batch and need to order more!
We recommend thawing your meal overnight in the fridge before reheating, but you can reheat straight from frozen as well.
The plastic container is microwaveable and ovenable, however please oven heat ONLY if meal is thawed. If still frozen, transfer meal to an oven safe dish and warm twice as long.
- In the microwave (if frozen), Peel corner slightly, heat your meal on high for 5 to 8 minutes depending on the strength of your microwave. At the halfway mark, stir lightly and continue till thoroughly hot. Add a couple tablespoons water if you like more sauce
- In the oven (ONLY if thawed), remove the plastic film and replace with foil. Place meal on a sheet pan. Bake in preheated 375º oven for 20 minutes, lightly stir entree (add about 2 tablespoons of water if more sauce is desired) replace foil and continue to heat for 10-15minutes or until hot in the center. Allow your meal to rest for two minutes before enjoying.
- If you prefer you can transfer the meal in an oven safe container and follow the oven heating instructions.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the business, meals that have been received cannot be returned.
